Resumo:
The dissertation entitled “Knowledge Production in the Samba Chula Group Filhos da Pitangueira from a Decolonial Perspective” arises from the need to understand forms of knowledge production historically rendered invisible by hegemonic scientific canons, yet which play a fundamental role in the appreciation and resistance of popular cultures. The Samba Chula Filhos da Pitangueira group stands out by mobilizing memory and orality as central elements in shaping a unique human formation rooted in tradition and collective experience. Adopting a qualitative approach, the research is situated within the field of (auto)biographical narratives, which are considered methodologically effective for capturing and valuing the participants’ testimonies. The theoretical framework draws on authors from decolonial thought, (auto)biographical narrative studies, and popular culture, in dialogue with non-formal education practices.
