Leitura infantil: critérios para composição de acervo

Abstract

Buscou-se identificar, com o estudo, quais aspectos em livros de literatura infantil motivam a escolha de professoras de séries iniciais do Ensino Fundamental, de escolas de Salvador, quando oferecem livros aos seus alunos. Para tanto, fez-se revisão bibliográfica dos conceitos de infância, literatura infantil e critérios para seleção de literatura infantil, que orientaram a análise documental de catálogos de editoras a fim de observar as informações que estas julgam relevantes oferecer ao leitor para que um título seja adquirido e aplicaram-se questionários à professoras, envolvidas com projetos de leitura, buscando identificar os seus critérios para seleção de livros de literatura infantil. Os resultados mostraram que os critérios para seleção de literatura infantil utilizados pelas professoras são orientados pela faixa etária dos alunos, baseando-se na linguagem utilizada no livro, na variedade de gêneros literários, e na opinião das professoras sobre o conteúdo do livro e sua utilidade.

ABSTRACT - The aim was to identify with the study, which aspects of literature books on child motivate the choice of teachers of initial series of elementary school, schools in Salvador, when they offer books to their students. To that end, it was made bibliographic review of the concepts of childhood, child literature and criteria for selection of children's literature, which guided the documentary analysis of catalogues of publishers to comply with the relevant information they think offer the reader to a title that is acquired and applied to questionnaires to teachers, involved with projects of reading, seeking identify their criteria for selection of books of children's literature. The results showed that the criteria for selection of children's literature used by teachers are guided by the age of the students, relying on the language used in the book, the variety of literary genres, and in the opinion of teachers on the content of the book and its usefulness.
