Abstract

These writings investigate the contemporary arts produced by people of color and seropositive for hiv/aids reflecting what, in the works of these artists, emerges as a anticolonial reaction that tells us other stories, different from those of fear, death and pain portrayed throughout forty years since the outbreak of the epidemic in the 1980s. The literary presented here focus on the construction of ekography as a way of critical reading in the field of arts, understanding the literary field as an expanded space-time that can encompass performances, video performances, film, music, theatre, literature and visual arts. Faced with the inexistence of a cure for the hiv/aid$ epidemic, in the field of health sciences, ekography seeks to manage the literary field as a space-time capable of producing epistemic knowledge in the production of a cure for the effects caused by racism, serophobia and other matrices of oppression and violence that cross the artist's life. Ekography an epidemic is to manage artistic practices and processes, making the forty-year archive and repertory echo other possibilities for understanding the ethical, aesthetic, political and affective scenarios that underlie a notion of positive ancestry and, also, is to dive on issues that were relegated over time, such as the persistence of deaths in the black population, the psychic life and the subjective dynamics of the person living with hiv/aids in their daily relationship with antiretroviral drugs and the use of artistic languages as a way of elaboration and expression against illnesses arising from the intersection of race, gender and health status. Inspired by the radical black thought of Denise Ferreira da Silva (2019), David Nunes (2021), Saidiya Hartman (2008; 2021) and Jota Mombaça (2016; 2020), ekography finds interstices in the brazilian racial dialectic through which a poetic language has the capacity to to give rise to a "third element" that invests in life and vitality as a anticolonial cure movement. In the contemporary arts scene, the contributions offered by the thoughts of Leda Maria Martins (2021), Lívia Natália (2022), Mateus Aleluia (2016), Félix Ayoh'Omidire (2022), Reinaldo Laddaga (2013), Castiel Vitorino Brasileiro (2022) , Pedro Lemebel (1996), David Kopenawa (2010), Gilles Deleuze (1992; 2014; 2018), Félix Guattari (1981; 2006), Roland Barthes (2017), among others, manage ekography in a critical way of po-Ethical reading the works of contemporary art that intersect from the triangulation between race, gender and health status.
