Deficiência visual na educação infantil: a prática pedagógica em atendimento educacional especializado

Abstract

This monographic study aimed to extend the research conducted by the Institutional Program of Scientific Initiation Scholarships PIBIC-UFBA (2011-2012), entitled Specialized Education Assistance for disabled children in Childhood Education which had as its object of study, the investigation of the reality of Specialized Education Assistance (AEE), which aims students with visual impairments (DV) in Childhood Education (EI) in Salvador-Bahia. The aim of the research was to understand and analyze the AEE offered to visual impaired students enrolled in public institutions of Childhood Education in Salvador. Survey participants included the manager of Special Education of the City, AEE specialized teachers, regular classroom teachers working with blind student sand four blind children. In turn, from a qualitative research, with an approach to the type of case study, this final work aimed to broaden the discussion above, adding data on the development of children with visual impairments and the pedagogic practice of Specialized Educational Service towards this target audience of Special Education. Thus, the general objective of the present study was to investigate the pedagogical practice of the AEE, which is offered to children with visual impairments included in the municipal Childhood Education in Salvador, relating it to the process of development and learning of children. The subjects of the present study were: three children with visual impairments included in Childhood Education in Early Childhood Municipal Centers (CMEI's) Salvador (SSA-BA), and the specialist teacher in Specialized Educational Care (AEE) who provides support for these children. The text approaches, discusses and analyzes the development of children with visual impairments related to the pedagogical practice developed by an AEE professional in an AEE Center (CAEE) for blind people from SSA-BA.
