Resumo:
This work has as its theme the methodology for the guitar and is intended for discussion, research
and development of strategies to produce teaching material, in the form of a method, which
encompasses the learning of this instrument with a focus on preparation for international
qualification exams in the models of the exams offered by the London College of Music – LCM.
The project that gave basis to this work arose from the observation of the disparity between the
content requested in the exams and the methodology and progressiveness found in the main
national and international guitar methods whose content is not like the material requested in these
exams. The methodology used was bibliographical research with a qualitative approach of a
descriptive nature carried out based on the main guitar methods used in Brazil and the United
Kingdom and the product to be presented, derived from this research, is a guitar method, in
tablature and sheet music, which maintains a close dialogue with the content requested in the exams
at its first four levels: Step 1, Step 2, Grade 1 and Grade 2.
