the study of language. It is from this theoretical assumption and Dominique Maingueneau
perspective, especially their approaches to the discursive ethos, according to which from its
own enunciation the enunciator transmits an image of himself; and scenography, scene
speaks instituted from the very enunciation, we carry out this work the Journal of the
materials analysis The Afternoon of May 1964, during which the production conditions in
the strict sense were in full military dictatorship, where ideals of democracy and
nationalism were being broadcast and where the Communists suffered severe criticism and
persecution. Aware that the newspaper positioned in support of dictatorship, we analyzed
in this study as it gave the building of the newspaper A Tarde ethos, as well as the scenic
constitution. That newspaper was configured in one of the main vehicles of mass
communication period. From the analysis we conclude that the newspaper A Tarde,
supported by validated set designs, generates a positive ethos effective before his
coenunciador belonging to a discursive formation of capitalist right. We also note your say
corroborated with the criticism of the communist movement while favored the deployment
and ideals of the military regime
