Resumo:
This thesis aims to investigate a process of dramaturgical creation in contemporary culture, based on a look at the strategies of Bahian artist Luiz Marfuz when writing and directing the play A Última Sessão de Teatro, released in 2009 to celebrate his 70th birthday. by Harildo Déda (1939-2023), one of the most important names in the history of theater in Bahia. The honored actor, director and teacher represents, in the imagination of generations, the iconic figure of a great Master of the arts, who became famous with a long-lasting and multifaceted career. The study analyzes the play, its reflections on the scene and its relevance in the historiography of Déda, who, when starring in the show, became the theatrical personality of the year 2009 in Salvador. The dramaturgical content studied in this research arises from a real situation involving the honoree. Even though he is in full vitality, he is forced to comply with the imposition of compulsory retirement, after several decades of work at the UFBA Theater School. The play A Última Sessão de Teatro was born from Marfuz's desire to provide a metaphorical rebirth of the Master, after seeing him emotionally fall apart in the face of this situation imposed by legal law. The author starts from a true perspective to create a text that places theater itself at the center of the plot. Detached from biographical fidelity, the work seeks to get closer and further away from its main source of inspiration, but without losing sight of the character of a tribute to the protagonist, who enters the scene to play the experienced actor HD. The crisis of representation, the confrontation of generations, the adoption of the Master-apprentice model in the relationship between the characters and the influence of playwrights such as Brecht, Beckett and Shakespeare are aspects addressed in this thesis, composed of a theoretical framework that includes contemporary dramaturgy and some cross-cutting themes, from authors such as Lehmann, Szondi, Fernandes, Ryngaert, Dort, Dubatti, Guénoun, Sarrazac, Pavis, Abel, Bobbio, Bosi, Halbwachs, Ricoeur, Leão, Santana and Uzel. But its greatest wealth is the living testimony of Harildo Déda, the artist who went through old age in full enjoyment of creative productivity and without ever giving up on his art until he said goodbye to life on September 19, 2023, at the age of 83.
