Abstract:
This is an investigation into the impacts on the mental health of quilombolas who experience precariousness in the process of land regularization in their territory. To this end, an investigation was carried out over two years in the Quilombo of Rio dos Macacos-BA, a place that has a history of territorial dispute with the Brazilian Navy, which, in the 1970s, expropriated residents to build a Military Village and which in 2009 legally claimed the eviction of the remaining quilombolas who still lived near its facilities. With the aim of analyzing the relationship between the right to land and the mental health of the population of Quilombo Rio dos Macacos-BA, an intersection of ethnography and action research was carried out in this territory.
