This text aims to analyze the current music consumption ecosystem, established in multimedia, based on connective media and networked audiovisual media. We observe the technological development of the last 25 years and how it has continuously changed the ways of listening to music, bringing us to the current
context. We observe the way we were educated in the context of digital culture and how this became the basis for the consolidation of the current consumption of musical products, in multimedia, through transmedia narratives, using the user as an essential connection point in its fluidity. We study the context of the growth of streaming, the first Brazilian initiatives for selling and listening to digital music and how foreign platforms established themselves in Brazil with their new market model. We discuss the concept of independent music and how the current music consumption ecosystem impacts the careers of mainstream and independent artists. We try to understand which current platforms are essential in the growth and
establishment of the way we listen to music today.
Resumen: Este texto tiene como objetivo analizar el ecosistema actual de consumo musical, instaurado en multimedia, basado en medios conectivos y audiovisuales en red.Buscamos mapear el desarrollo tecnológico de los últimos 25 años y cómo ha cambiado continuamente las formas en que escuchamos música, acercándonos al contexto actual. Observamos la forma en que fuimos educados en el contexto de la cultura digital y cómo esto se convirtió en la base para consolidar el consumo actual de productos musicales, en multimedia, a través de narrativas transmedia que utilizan al usuario como punto de conexión esencial en su fluidez. Evaluamos el contexto de crecimiento del streaming, las primeras iniciativas brasileñas para vender y escuchar música digital y cómo plataformas extranjeras se establecieron en Brasil con su nuevo modelo de negocios. Discutimos el concepto de música
independiente y cómo el ecosistema actual de consumo musical impacta esta escena en la ciudad de Salvador y también las carreras de los artistas convencionales. Buscamos comprender qué plataformas actuales son esenciales en el crecimiento y establecimiento de la forma en que escuchamos música hoy.
