Resumo:
Our research was carried out to learn more about the Bachelor of Gender and
Diversity Studies (BEGD) course offered by the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA).
We set out to answer the following question: “What are the main challenges and
perspectives of the bachelor’s degree in Gender and Diversity Studies from the
perspective of students?”. Our general objective was to obtain a survey regarding
the course, having an analysis and critical view of the active students to understand
a little more about the proposal of this new profession and its applicability both
academically and in the job market. The research used the methodology of content
analysis with semi-structured interview. Our results were divided into exploratory
material 1, exploratory material 2 and exploratory material 3, being coded and
categorized for better structuring and analysis. We carried out a survey of the
socioeconomic profile of the students and through interviews we described the
motivations and perspectives regarding the course. The students pointed out 5
challenges of this career, namely, the job market, academic management, student
profile, dissemination/communication and infrastructure. What we intend, through
this research, is to provoke this reflection among teachers and students and,
perhaps, contribute in some way to the improvement of the Bachelor's Degree.
