Abstract: A feasible experimental scheme to generate states of a field mode in a high-Q cavity possessing holes in their photonnumber distributions at controlled positions is proposed. Such kind of states may be of interest to optical data storage and communications with a possible readout system consisting of an atomic deflection setup.
