Abstract:	We point out that the first step towards the generation of superposed circular coherent states for running waves of the electromagnetic field, from which superpositions of two Fock states are obtained, as presented in Section 3 of our Letter (see Fig. 2(a)), had been previously proposed by C.C. Gerry [Phys. Rev. A 59 (1999) 4095], a missing reference in our paper.
