GUITARRA BLUES NO BRASIL: DISCUSSÕES SOBRE PERSPECTIVAS METODOLÓGICAS

Abstract

O presente trabalho propõe reflexões metodológicas no ensino da chamada ―guitarra blues‖ praticado no Brasil, a partir de uma escrita em primeira pessoa. ―Guitarra blues‖ é uma terminologia empregada para designar características técnicas e sonoras inerentes à utilização da guitarra no blues, gênero musical de existência centenária surgido em contexto diaspórico, no sul dos Estados Unidos. A tese busca entender perspectivas metodológicas do ensino da guitarra blues no Brasil, bem como as maneiras pelas quais é possível estabelecer diálogos com as identidades culturais dos guitarristas brasileiros que estudam esta música. Posiciono- me no lugar de músico de blues (guitarrista, cantor e compositor), pesquisador musical, etnomusicólogo e professor de guitarra, entendendo minha subjetividade e vivência cotidiana como elementos válidos na produção de conhecimento. A partir da análise de materiais de estudo de guitarra blues produzidos no Brasil, envolvendo livros, cursos online e videoaulas, o texto discute as metodologias apresentadas e problematiza a existência ou não de diálogos com as questões das identidades culturais dos sujeitos nestas publicações. Então, identifica momentos em que tais articulações acontecem e entrelaça as discussões empreendidas com experiências vividas, em sala de aula, com duas turmas de guitarristas da Graduação em Música da UFBA dedicadas à guitarra blues. Como conclusão, identifica que são escassas as conexões entre o ensino da guitarra blues no Brasil e as identidades culturais dos guitarristas estudantes, e propõe possibilidades que apontem para os referidos diálogos.

The present work proposes methodological reflections on the ―blues guitar‖ teaching in Brazil, from a first person writing. ―Blues guitar‖ is a terminology used to designate technical and sound characteristics found in the way the guitar is played in the blues, a musical genre that exists for over a century, emerged through the black diaspora in the southern United States. This work aims to understand methodological perspectives in the teaching of the blues guitar in Brazil, as well as the ways in which it is possible to deal with the cultural identities of the brazilian guitarists that study this music. I speak as a blues musician (guitarist, singer and songwriter), music researcher, ethnomusicologist and guitar teacher, considering my subjectivity and everyday experience as valid elements in the knowledge construction. From analysis of the blues guitar study materials produced in Brazil, involving books, online courses and video lessons, this text discusses the presented methodologies and the existence or not of dialogues with the subjects' cultural identities issues in these publications. Then, identify moments when such articulations take place and interweave the discussions undertaken with experiences lived in the classroom, with two classes of guitarists from the UFBA Music Graduation, with a subject dedicated to the blues guitar. As a conclusion, points that there are few connections between the teaching of the blues guitar in Brazil and the cultural identities of the student guitarists, and proposes possibilities aiming to these dialogues.
