Segregação socioespacial na cidade do agronegócio de Luís Eduardo Magalhães (BA)

Abstract

Nesta pesquisa entendemos que o conceito de segregação socioespacial é muito mais do que uma mera espacialização de grupos sociais sobre o espaço intraurbano de uma cidade. Ele pode ser entendido enquanto categoria de análise espacial e sua aplicabilidade revela e/ ou reflete elementos importantes da estrutura urbana de uma determinada formação econômica e social (F.E.S). Caracterizamos este conceito enquanto conceito flexível, de modo que seu significado e aplicabilidade possuam diferenciações significativas no que concerne à concepção teórica que norteia a pesquisa e a abordagem metodológica adotada pelo pesquisador. No entanto, defendemos que o contexto histórico e geográfico de formação do espaço urbano e a dimensão espacial do recorte geográfico analisado são os principais elementos que promovem esta variação no conceito. No Brasil, a análise sobre a segregação privilegia estudos sobre as metrópoles. Sendo que tanto as abordagens metodológicas, quanto os padrões de segregação são produzidos com base nesse recorte espacial. Assim, esta pesquisa analisou a produção da segregação socioespacial em Luís Eduardo Magalhães, pequena cidade do agronegócio, com o objetivo de fazer um comparativo de seu conteúdo qualitativo com os padrões de segregação socioespacial produzidos nas metrópoles brasileiras. Concluímos que o tamanho do recorte espacial (cidade pequena) e o contexto de produção do espaço urbano dessa cidade produziram elementos suficientes para promover particularidades no processo de segregação em relação à metrópole. Inclusive, identificando uma dimensão simbólica (divisão cultural, a partir da origem do fluxo migratório dos moradores da cidade), como um aspecto que deve ser melhor avaliado na análise da segregação socioespacial no país.

ABSTRACT In this research, we understand that the concept of socio spatial segregation is much more than just a mere distribution of social groups upon an intra urban space of a city. It can be understood as a category of spatial analysis, and its applicability reveals or reflects important elements of the urban structure of a certain social and economic formation. ( S.E.F). We characterized this concept as being flexible, so that its sense and its applicability have meaningful differentiation related to the theoretical concept that orientates the research and the methodological approach adopted by the researcher. Nevertheless, we defend that the geographical and historical context of the urban spatial formation and the spatial dimension of the geographical constraint that were analyzed are the main elements promoting this variation of the concept. In Brazil, the analysis of the segregation privileges studies about capital cities. The methodological approaches and the segregation patterns are produced based on this spatial constraint. This research analyzed the production of the social spatial segregation in the town of the agribusiness called Luis Eduardo Magalhães, with the purpose of comparing its qualitative content with the patterns of social spatial segregation produced in Brazilian capital cities. We concluded that the size of the spatial constraint (of the town) and the production context of the urban space of this town have made enough elements to promote particularities of the segregation process in relation to the capital cities. Furthermore, it was identified a symbolic dimension ( cultural division from the migratory inflow of the residents of the town) as an aspect that must be better evaluated in the analysis of the social spatial segregation of the country.
