Abstract

This work sought to produce a geographical, historical, theoretical-conceptual, and methodological review of regional studies and relevant regionalizations developed and implemented in the State of Bahia in the 20th century. The contributions generated within state planning institutions and academic institutions focused on geographical studies, whether universities or scientific associations, were analyzed. Thus, the work was developed following the principles of Livingstone's Geography of Sciences (2003), Vincent Berdoulay's contextual approach (2017), Milton Santos's events (2002), and Sheila Jasanoff's co-production (2004). The focus is on a geography and history of science that considers the internal and external aspects of scientific knowledge production, observing the circulation, rearrangements, and influences of ideas in the dialectic of the encounter between global and local science.
