metadata.dc.description.resumo: Fundado em primeiro de janeiro de 1933, na cidade do Salvador, o Galícia Esporte Clube é uma agremiação esportiva voltada essencialmente para a prática do futebol. Contudo, ainda que não ignore os feitos esportivos, este trabalho analisou as principais ações do Clube voltadas para a imaginação da comunidade política da Galiza enquanto distinguia-se socialmente a partir da construção identidade galega na capital da Bahia. Inserido na vertente da História Social, as pretensões identitárias do Galícia foram enquadradas no contexto das correntes migratórias, popularização do futebol, difusão dos nacionalismos e nas conjunturas políticas entre os anos de 1930 e 1940, no Brasil e na Espanha. Para atingir esta finalidade, utilizamos o recurso de uma história transnacional que instrumentaliza o intercâmbio historiográfico entre as produções brasileiras e as galegas. Assim levamos em consideração as bibliografias especializadas, as documentações históricas a exemplo das fontes orais, periódicos e registros migratórios daqueles indivíduos que fizeram esta história.
Abstract: Founded on January 1, 1933, in the city of Salvador, Galícia Esporte Clube is a sport association dedicated to the practice of football. This work studied the main actions of the Club aimed at the imagination of the political community of Galicia, while socially distinguishing itself from the construction of Galician identity in the capital of Bahia. Inserted in the Social History aspect, Galicia's identity claims were framed in the context of migratory currents, popularization of football, diffusion of nationalisms and in the political conjunctures between the 1930s and 1940s in Brazil and Spain. In the end, we use the resource of a transnational history that instrumentalizes the historiographical exchange between Brazilian and Galician productions. We take into account specialized bibliographies, historical documentation, such as oral sources, periodicals and migratory records of those individuals who made this history.
