Abstract

This live is part of the Information Records project: dialogues between Librarianship, Archival Science and Information Science (CI); coordinated by the Superintendent of the University Library System (SIBI/UFBA), Professor Ivana Borges Lins, in partnership with the Information Science Institute (ICI)/UFBA. Prof. Dr. Hildenise Ferreira Novo (ICI/UFBA) interviewed Prof. Dr. Maria Luiza de Almeida Campos (Universidade Federal Fluminense/UFF), who initially recounted professional experiences; when approaching the theme, she defined the ‘’ontological commitment’’, in the context of the area of knowledge representation: an agreement established on the meaning of existing concepts within a domain. In addition to discussing: the theoretical bases that involve the organization of knowledge, institutions and the representation of knowledge, the role of the librarian and differences in the training of information and computing professionals.
