A MULHER, A CASA, A MORTE: DIALOGISMO E CRONOTOPO NO FILME FOI APENAS UM SONHO

Abstract

À luz da análise dialógica do discurso, que parte da perspectiva teórica de Bakhtin e seu círculo, o objetivo deste trabalho é analisar as relações discursivas que se estabelecem entre a figura da morte e as condições sociais vividas pela protagonista do filme Foi apenas um sonho (EUA, 2008), considerando que as especificidades desta realidade se constroem a partir de normas determinadas pelo patriarcado, atribuindo diferentes papéis sociais para mulheres e homens. Neste sentido, a materialidade do objeto de estudo evidencia a determinante função simbólica da casa para que se possa compreender o modo como a morte e as condições sociais que se impõem às mulheres se interligam discursivamente no seio da narrativa considerada. Para tanto, o conceito cronotopo se mostra fundamental, ao passo em que também é crucial pensar na contribuição do pensamento feminista para o desenvolvimento deste trabalho. A análise apresentada parte dos aspectos supramencionados, estabelecendo diálogo entre as realidades intra e extrafílmicas, a fim de evidenciar que os temas abordados pela obra narrativa reverberam a realidade social, cujo modus operandi machista precisa estar em constante discussão.

According to the discourse analysis developed by Bakhtin and his circle, the purpose of this study is to analyze the discursive relations established between the death figure and the social conditions faced by the main female character in the film Revolutionary Road (USA, 2008), whereas the specificities of this reality are built on patriarchalism's bases, that assign different social roles to women and men. In this regard, the materiality of the the object of study of this work demonstrates the decisive symbolic function of the house/home to understand the way death and the women's social conditions are discursively connected in the narrative above mentioned. Therefore, the concept of chronotope is crucial, while is also crucial to consider the contribution of the Feminist thinking to develop this work. The analysis presented comes from the aspects abobe mentioned, by establishing dialogical relations between the realities outside and within the formal limits of that film, in order to highlight that the issues addressed by that narrative reverberate the social reality, the chauvinist modus operandi of which needs to be under permanent discussion.
