A VARIAÇÃO NA CONCORDÂNCIA VERBAL NA TERCEIRA PESSOA DO PLURAL NO PORTUGUÊS POPULAR DO MUNICÍPIO DE CACHOEIRA-BA

Abstract

Através de uma pesquisa empírica, investiga-se a concordância verbal, na terceira pessoa do plural, ou P6, no Português Popular Brasileiro, nos moldes da Sociolinguística Quantitativa (LABOV, 2008 [1972], 1982, 1994). Para tanto, foram investigadas as populações da Sede, zona urbana, e a do Povoado do Saco, zona rural, do município de Cachoeira, localizado no Recôncavo Baiano. Os resultados obtidos mostraram que os falantes observados, na sua gramática de uso, empregam, numa frequência baixa, a aplicação da regra de concordância verbal. Os resultados da amostra quantitativa revelaram que os fatores: concordância nominal no sujeito; saliência fônica, último constituinte do SN sujeito que está antes do verbo; efeito de gatilho; idade; sexo e estada fora da comunidade foram os que mais afetaram a variação no uso da regra de concordância.

Through anempirical research, one investigates the verbal concordance, in the plural third person, or P6, in the Brazilian Popular Portuguese, in the molds of the Quantitative Sociolinguistics (LABOV, 2008 [1972], 1982, 1994). For this, some populations, from the city center and the one of Saco´s thorp, in the rural area of Cachoeira City, located in the deep cave costal region, in Bahia State, were investigated. The results obtained showed that the observed speakers, in their grammar of usage, use, in a low frequency, the application of the verbal concordance rule. The quantitative sample results showed that the factors: nominal concordance in the subject; the phonic projection; the last component of the SN subject that is before the verb; triggering effect, age; sex and being out of the community were the ones which affected the most the variation in the use of the concordance rule.
