O jeito que o corpo dá: a capoeira Angola e a dimensão corporificada do conhecimento

Abstract

O presente trabalho aborda a Capoeira Angola como expressão da experiência pretafricana no Brasil, representante do amplo legado de conhecimentos que se inscrevem nas Américas, cujo protagonismo está no corpo. Desenvolvida no Grupo de Capoeira Angola Zimba e na comunidade do Pituaçu, em Salvador, a pesquisa é um movimento, um trajeto entre o teatro e a capoeira, na tentativa de responder à seguinte pergunta: Como fugir a um corpo colonizado, como escapar a esse corpo determinista, carregado de representações de gênero, raça, tempo e lugar? Essa pergunta nasceu no universo do teatro, onde o corpo é o símbolo físico maior, pois representa tanto em aparência quanto em ações, e se voltou para a corporeidade da Capoeira Angola, em que o corpo é construído a partir de outras lógicas. Por isso, a experiência é o território do qual parte esta pesquisa, que dá voz a um sujeito encarnado, condição estratégica para a desconstrução das narrativas universais. A pesquisa propõe-se, portanto, a contribuir para a construção de uma ciência que seja capaz de gingar e incluir as experiências de nossos povos motrizes, que têm o corpo como seu patrimônio. O olhar sobre comportamentos performatizados pode mudar definitivamente os estudos sobre a história cultural das Américas, revelando outras memórias, lutas e tensões, em outros cenários e com outros protagonismos. São experiências incorporadas, como a Capoeira Angola, tratadas como resíduos no interior da nação, que negam a existência de uma perspectiva única de mundo,porque oferecem, na contemporaneidade, outras formas de organização social. A ideia,aqui, é propor uma reflexão sobre o quanto o conhecimento incorporado nega as narrativas que, ao apagar o corpo, esconderam a vítima e descaracterizaram o crime do projeto colonizador. Somente assim os espaços oficiais de produção e difusão do conhecimento deixarão de ser espaços disciplinadores de corpos e perpetuadores da exclusão socioeconômica e cognitiva, para serem espaços de luta contra todo o tipo de violência que ainda vitimiza a população afro-brasileira.

The present work approaches Capoeira Angola as an expression of the Black African experience in Brazil, representative of the wide legacy of knowledge that is inscribed in the American continent, which has the body as protagonist. Developed in the Zimba Capoeira Angola Group and at the Pituaçu community in Salvador/Bahia, the research is a movement, a path between theater and capoeira, in an attempt to answer the following question: How to escape from a colonized body, how to escape from this deterministic body, loaded with representations of gender, race, time and place? This question arose in the universe of theater where the body is the greatest physical symbol because it represents both in appearance and actions, and turned to the corporeality of Capoeira Angola, where the body is constructed from other logics. For this reason, the experience is the territory from which this research starts, giving voice to an incarnated subject, a strategic condition for the deconstruction of universal narratives. The research therefore proposes to contribute to the construction of a science that is capable of gingar and include the experiences of our descendant people who have the body as their patrimony. The look at performatized behaviors can definitively change the studies on the cultural history of the American continent, revealing other memories, struggles and tensions, in other scenery and with other protagonisms. These are embodied experiences such as Capoeira Angola, treated as waste within the nation, which deny the existence of a universal world perspective because they offer, in the contemporary era, other forms of social organization. The idea here is to propose a reflection on how much the incorporated knowledge denies the narratives that obliterate the body, hid the victim and mischaracterized the crime of the colonizing project. Only then, the official spaces of production and diffusion of knowledge will no longer be spaces for disciplining bodies and for perpetuating socioeconomic and cognitive exclusion to be spaces to fight against all violence that still victimizes the Afro-Brazilian population.
