A mulher no espelho: um estudo do feminino enquanto signo no imaginário da cultura

Abstract

Este trabalho tem como objetivo principal a investigação de processos artísticos que dialogam sobre a imagem do feminino enquanto signo inserido na cultura, contrapondo a ideia hegemônica da representação das mulheres nos planos sóciohistórico e cultural. Entendemos que ao longo da construção da narrativa histórica da humanidade, os sujeitos do gênero masculino, os homens, dominadores dessa configuração, forjaram para os sujeitos do gênero feminino, as mulheres, uma identidade voltada para o serviço da existência masculina. Desta forma, delimitaram os locais de existência nos planos sóciohistórico e cultural para os indivíduos que compartilham do ambiente cultural de acordo com as identidades de gênero operadas segundo a narrativa dos corpos e consequentemente da representação dos mesmos. Porém, em contraponto a essa representação, mulheres artistas, produtoras de imaginários, também disputaram o significado da existência sóciohistórica e cultural do feminino, a partir de criações para a impressão da imagem do feminino enquanto signo da cultura. Desse modo, discorremos em cinco capítulos, através de conceitos teóricos, relatos históricos e exposições de obras artísticas, sobre a representação do feminino pela cultura patriarcal e sobre as contra representações forjadas por artistas produtoras de significado. Para isso, nos embasamos em conceitos como Intermidialidade e Intersemiótica, para dar conta das quebras de fronteiras dos discursos e das traduções de mapas sígnicos. Assim, são utilizadas obras teóricas e artísticas que tratam sobre a história das mulheres e da Semiótica, ciência que estuda todas as linguagens possíveis, como aparato fundamental de sustentação da defesa de nosso ponto de vista para o objeto pesquisado: a imagem do feminino enquanto signo inserido no imaginário da cultura.

ABSTRACT - This work has as main objective the investigation of artistic processes that dialogue about the image of the feminine as a sign inserted in the culture, censuring the hegemonic idea of the representation of the women in the sociohistorical and cultural background. We understand that throughout the construction of the historical narrative of mankind, male subjects, men, dominators of this configuration, forged for the subjects of the feminine gender, women, an identity focused on the service of masculine existence. In this way, they delimited the places of existence in the sociohistorical and cultural planes for the individuals who share the cultural environment according to the gender identities operated according to the narrative of the bodies and consequently of the representation of the same. However, in counterpoint to this representation, women artists, producers of imaginaries, also disputed the meaning of the sociohistorical and cultural existence of the feminine, from creations to the impression of the image of the feminine as a sign of culture. Thus, we discuss in five chapters, through theoretical concepts, historical accounts and exhibitions of artistic works, about the representation of the feminine by the patriarchal culture and about an erasure of representations forged by artists that produce meanings. In this way, we based the article on concepts such as Intermediality and Intersemiotic, to account for the border breaks of speeches and the translation of sign maps.For this, we use theoretical and artistic works that deal with the history of women and semiotics, a science that studies all possible languages, as a fundamental support apparatus for the defense of our point of view for the object researched: the image of the feminine as a sign inserted in the imaginary of culture.
