Caracterização de nascentes da sub-bacia do Rio Barrocas, município de Senhor do Bonfim, Bahia

Abstract

RESUMO As nascentes emergem como sistemas essenciais na manutenção do equilíbrio hidrológico e, desta forma, são elementos fundamentais em bacias hidrográficas sob o ponto de vista geossistêmico. A importância das nascentes é indiscutível, levando-se em consideração a contribuição que esses sistemas dão aos canais de drenagem, fonte principal de abastecimento de água para população, sobretudo em ambientes inseridos no semiárido. O objetivo desta pesquisa é caracterizar as nascentes da sub-bacia do rio Barrocas, situada no terço superior do curso do rio Itapicuru, no município de Senhor do Bonfim, Bahia, no que se refere à hidrografia, hidrologia e condições ambientais. O trabalho está fundamentado na espacialização e caracterização física das nascentes localizadas no rio Barrocas, além da análise da dinâmica e da classificação, levando em consideração a magnitude e a persistência de seus fluxos. Após discussão e adoção do conceito acadêmico de nascente, foi possível a identificação e mapeamento das nascentes em campo. Foi feita uma caracterização do município de Senhor do Bonfim para contextualizar a sub-bacia do Rio Barrocas, considerando aspectos geológicos, geomorfológicos, pedológicos, vegetação e uso do solo. O contexto hidrográfico também foi descrito e uma análise morfométrica da sub-bacia do rio Barrocas foi realizada. O traçado da rede de drenagem da sub-bacia foi checado em campo e corrigido/detalhado sobre mapa pré-existente. Foram realizadas duas campanhas em campo para mapear nascentes e medir suas vazões. Ao todo, foram mapeadas 42 nascentes, e medidas as vazões de 10 nascentes, nas duas campanhas. Segundo a classificação de Faria (1977), foram encontradas 3 nascentes móveis e 7 fixas, considerando-se o critério de migração. De acordo com a classificação de Meinzer (1927), 2 nascentes apresentaram magnitude 7 e 8, magnitude 8, sendo consideradas de débito baixo, porém dentro dos padrões de vazão das nascentes encontradas no Brasil. Com respeito à morfologia e ao tipo de exfiltração, características físicas que merecem destaque na caracterização das nascentes, foram encontradas na sub-bacia do rio Barrocas seis formas diferentes: 21 em concavidade, 5 em cavidade, 2 em afloramento, 2 em olho, 1 em duto e 3 em talvegue. Representando os pontos de exfiltração, tem-se 21 nascentes difusas, 19 nascentes pontuais e 2 nascentes múltiplas. Em relação às condições ambientais nas nascentes, a maior parte delas está protegida, sobretudo pelo fato de a sub-bacia se encontrar na Serra da Jacobina, local com elevadas declividades e difícil acesso, porém algumas nascentes já estão em fase de degradação pela ação humana.

ABSTRACT Springs emerge like essential systems in maintaining the hydrological balance and, therefore, they are key elements in river basins under the geosystemic point of view. The importance of springs is undisputed, taking into consideration the contribution that these systems give to water course drainage, the main source of water supply for the population, especially in inserted in the semiarid environments. The objective of this research is to characterize the springs of the sub-basin of the Barrocas River. Situated in the upper third of the course Itapicuru river in the town of Senhor do Bonfim, Bahia State, with regard to hydrography, hydrology and environmental conditions. The work is based on the spatial and physical characterization of springs located in Barrocas basin, beyond the analysis of the dynamics and their classification, taking into account the magnitude and persistence of their flows. After the discussion and adoption of the academic concept of spring, it was possible to identify and map the springs in the field.It was made a characterization of the town Senhor do Bonfim to contextualize the sub-basin of the Barrocas river, considering geological features, geomorphology, soil, vegetation and land use. The hydrographic context has also been described and it was made a morphometric analysis of the sub-basin of the Barrocas River. The design of the drainage system of the sub-basin was checked in the field and detailed on pre-existing map. Two campaigns were carried out in the field to map springs and measure their flow. 42 springs in total were mapped, and measures flow were made in 10 springs in both campaigns. According to Faria classification (1977), there were founded three movable springs and seven fixed springs, taking into consideration the migration criteria. According to the classification of Meinzer (1927), two springs showed magnitude 7 and eight showed magnitude 8; they are considerate as low output, although within the flow patterns of the springs found in Brazil. Considering the morphology and the type of exfiltration, which are physical characteristics that are worth mentioning in the characterization of the springs, there were found in the sub-basin of the Barrocas River six different springs: 21 in recess, five in the cavity, two in outcrop, two in eye, one in duct and three in thalweg. Representing the points of exfiltration, there were 21 diffuse sources, 19 point springs and two multiple springs. With regard to environmental conditions of the springs, most of them are protected, especially because the sub-basin is located in the mountain range of Jacobina, a place with high slopes and difficult access. However some springs are already in phase of degradation by human action.
