Resumo:
This research investigates how digital culture on Instagram influences the identity of young family farmers in the Recôncavo of Bahia region. The theories and concepts discussed in the study explore the intersection between identity, digital culture, and young family farmers, highlighting how identity formation processes are influenced by social, cultural, and economic factors. The research also addresses how new technologies and digital platforms are redefining identity dynamics among young farmers. Conducted with young people aged 20 to 29 from the Identity Territory of Recôncavo of Bahia, the research identified active profiles on Instagram, mapping and categorizing the identities represented. The interviews revealed that young people often hide their farmer identity, prioritizing "instagrammable" activities such as leisure, academic life, and urban-related activities. The initial hypothesis was that digital cultures with an urban bias would contribute to a negative perception of family farming. The research reveals fragmented identities, shaped by field experiences and digital influences. Despite the importance of family farming, many young people feel uncomfortable exposing this identity on Instagram.
