Resumo:
The aim of this study is to analyze the process of construction and development of the Food Security and Food Sovereignty concepts and seek their differences and similarities. Thus, both the analysis of the historical context and the presentation of a theory of concepts will be realized. Shall also be submitted in order to achieve the objective of the work, the production models that both concepts advocated. From this study it was possible to identify the character of those concepts: conservative or revolutionary. It has been seen that the Food Safety carries in her features a conservative profile law enforcement, while Food Sovereignty incorporates the most linked to the revolutionary ideals characteristics.
