Resumo:
This work analyzes the influence of ethnoculture on the exercise of management
advisory in the quilombola community of Santiago do Iguape, located in the Recôncavo
Baiano, Brazil. With deep roots in the resistance to slavery, the community carries a
rich cultural and social heritage that significantly impacts its management and
development practices. The research explores the specific challenges faced by the
community, such as the struggle for land regularization, limited access to essential
services, and socioeconomic barriers. Management advisory is proposed as a
strategic tool to strengthen community organization, integrating cultural values and
traditional practices with modern management methodologies. Strategies such as
participatory planning, solidarity economy, and the valorization of local culture are
highlighted as essential for promoting sustainable development and preserving
quilombola identity. In conclusion, the study argues that an ethnoculturally sensitive
approach is crucial to ensuring the inclusion, empowerment, and resilience of
quilombola communities, transforming challenges into opportunities for growth and
strengthening.
