Resumen:
Praise to the sample: Rei Lacoste and Everyday Remixes is the thesis in which
I develop a study on the creative process in the field of remixing visual, sound,
and relational works, expressed in the creative process and the relationship
between text and artistic product. The writing is a reflection of this process
and is also understood as a work produced in the first person and poetic
form. Concepts such as remix, quotation, sample, re-edition, and cover are
associated with my experience in the peripheral neighborhood of Boca do
Rio, a region on the coast of Salvador, and are present in the works exhibited here, as well as in the theoretical considerations with which I dialogue.
Everyday experiences, fiction, identity, territory, and relational issues are all
part of the reflections contained in the text. The remixes here are in the field
of reconfigurations in an attempt to give another meaning to myself and
the things around me. In the field of multilingualism, I dialogue with authors
such as Eduardo Navas, Oswald de Andrade, and Nicolas Borriaud, among
others. Relationships were also established between artistic experiences
and artistic-theoretical references from the most diverse areas, such as music, cinema, literature, sociology, philosophy, and anthropology, in order to
create speculations about a process of creation in the arts that is reflexive
and particular, but with pretensions of universal readings.
