Abstract:
The project Comprovisation and Compositionality: Strategies, Practices and Shared Risks in the Creation of the Cycle of Pieces Abaeté is an investigation on how the creation, elaboration and recording of the pieces would be accomplished by myself, as composer-musician, with Afluentes Ensemble under a creative praxis of processes that are both improvisational and compositional. This project is a way of perceiving how my comprovisative approach, that has been taken for years into my individual works, can be interrelated in a creative context of a musical collective. Those pieces come from my own research as an acoustic/electric guitarist for the shared perception of motivational aspects, as much as the needs of transmitting a creative impact about social issues that are dealt in the concept of this future cycle of musical works. The experiences and artistic experimentations of this work made with Afluentes Ensemble have been documented in audiovisual format, as much as through interviews in which will be found out how the challenges of the future Abaeté’s cycle of pieces was accomplished. The compositionality of a comprovisation is a goal of understanding this investigation that, in the end, will try to understand a comprovisationality through practices, strategies and shared risks, supported by a bibliographic review. How to deal with such music in its comprovisational character, whether in individual or collective projects, is going to be approached when discussing its purposeful for contemporary compositional thought.
