Resumo:
This research seeks to reflect on the role of transnational non-governmental organizations in combating human rights violations in Brazil. To do this, we will use the case study as a research strategy. The analysis will therefore be based on the information provided in Amnesty International's institutional reports, between 2011 and 2021, in the areas of Public Security and Human Rights Defenders. In addition to the documentary analysis, we will carry out a literature review on the topics covered, which will guide us throughout the dissertation. In this way, we will discuss questions about human rights and their claim to universality and we will make a counterpoint with the decoloniality of these rights, as well as highlighting the historical evolution of the work of transnational non-governmental organizations. Finally, the data and theoretical analysis aims to understand Amnesty International's role in Brazil in combating human rights violations.
