Abstract:
This work, in the form of a thesis of five scientific articles, presents the results of the process of building, validating and applying the DGIIN scale (Decision in Innovation Management in Business Incubators), including testing the hypotheses of its associated model. To this end, the main foundations that gave rise to its dimensions of analysis, namely: Manager, Process, Entrepreneurship and Innovation, as well as new constructs based on refinements to the scale. Based on these foundations, the model was presented with its respective variables already refined based on the stages of semantic validation, pre-testing and expert analysis. The research method used was mixed, divided into 3 stages: testing, validation and application of the model, the latter being carried out by means of a survey on a sample of 74 managers of Brazilian business incubators, in accordance with the sampling plan for a universe of 314 incubators. The analyses included a factor analysis of principal components and a multiple regression analysis. The results showed the perceptions of incubator managers about the dimensions of the DGIIN model, verifying how the manager, process and enterprise influence innovation. It was concluded that perceptions of innovation results were significantly and positively influenced by the Process dimension.
