Resumo:
The objective of this research is to investigate the possible contributions that Art and
Community Theater Pedagogy has to offer to the area of Theater Pedagogy. To reach it, I seek,
through five paths, to present the creative path of composing this proposal. By identifying the
principles that underlie the work, it is possible to delve into the definition of “community”,
mainly from the perspective discussed by sociologist and philosopher Zygmunt Bauman. The
community is considered a comfortable and cozy space, a place where we understand each other
well, can trust what we hear and feel safe most of the time. It would thus be another way of
finding the lost paradise to which we eagerly await to return. And to achieve the community
context in the world of individuals today, it is only possible if it is woven together through
sharing and mutual care. Along with a diversity of subjects, I find in the arts – especially in
theater, which is established as an essentially collective language – the compositional steps of
our journey. By interconnecting views, I see that carrying out artistic-pedagogical processes is
a possibility to propose transformations at the community level. Thus, Theater is at the center
of the work, but open to dialogue with other languages; That’s why we talk about Art. If art
reinvents reality, as proposed by Augusto Boal, and the composition of the community is woven
together, as proposed by Zygmunt Bauman, the integration between Art and Community can
suggest collective forms to-compose and re-compose new realities. In the development of the
work, it is possible to observe that Art and Community Theater Pedagogy seeks to intervene in
the reality presented by the oppressive curricula and subjects that segregate knowledge in a
perspective of fragmentation imposed by banking education. In contrast, the liberating proposal
envisions carrying out artistic-pedagogical processes that widen fences, tear down walls and
create bridges, thus expanding the space and time of action, forming a collectively woven web.
By building representative syntheses and identifying the artistic-pedagogical dimensions in a
didactic-methodological context, Art and Community Theater Pedagogy proposes an integral
human formation.
