Resumo:
Information literacy enables us to solve everyday problems. The way that life presents itself can be elucidated through (auto)biographical research. Therefore, this communication aims to discuss the pertinence of (auto)biographical research in information literacy fabrics. This is a theoretical reflection undertaken with the desire to understand the applicability of (auto)biographies in Information Science. It was noticed that (auto)biographical research can be used in studies of information literacy, as it has the potential to bring to light the way it crosses people's lives, providing opportunities to (re)think skills during the process of (auto) biography. Moreover, it can show important information to researchers, librarians, archivists, as well, to information professionals, so that they (re)evaluate discussions and educational practices around information literacy. It is concluded, therefore, that the contribution that (auto)biographical research can add to studies of information literacy and Information Science in its various contours is patent. It is also suggested that discussions around this issue be expanded.
