Resumo:
The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) was introduced in Brazil through the National Environmental Policy (PNMA), enacted by the Federal Law No. 6,938 of August 31, 1981. The EIA is an instrument of the Environmental Policy designed to analyze the positive and negative environmental impacts caused by a given activity or enterprise. This article aims to propose guidelines for the elaboration of the Environmental Impact Assessment, which is required by the Term of Reference (TR) issued by the Institute for the Environment and Water Resources of the State of Bahia (INEMA) for Environmental Studies of Medium Impact (EMI) for mining projects involving mineral extraction and associated processing and production of of crushed stone.
