Resumo:
This research addresses the topic of masculinities, focusing on "Men's Groups" as an object of study. Such groups have emerged in different parts of Brazil, seeking to create safe spaces for constructive dialogues, in which men can talk about themselves, their fears, insecurities, and other topics. Therefore, this research investigated these initiatives through participatory research and analyzed the discourse of three Men's Groups - Brotherhood, Homens Essenciais, and MEMOH - based on their content produced on social media platforms (Instagram) and streaming platforms (podcasts), using the perspective of the sociology of morality. This dissertation is divided into four parts, addressing the historical context of studies on masculinities and discussing the moralities present in this debate. The ideas of authenticity by Taylor (2011) and civility by Elias (1994) are extensively explored in this analysis and are essential for elucidating how the moral argument may be present in such discourses.
