A lógica hegemônica da produção do espaço na escala da Bacia Hidrográfica do Rio Jaguaribe – SSA/BA

Abstract

Esta dissertação de mestrado buscou como objetivo estudar a relação entre a sociedade e a natureza sob a ótica da lógica hegemônica da produção do espaço para identificar a ocorrência de segregação socioeconômica espacial na escala de uma bacia hidrográfica. A bacia hidrográfica do rio Jaguaribe está totalmente localizada no perímetro urbano de Salvador, Bahia, em área definida a partir dos anos 1970 como vetor de crescimento e expansão da capital baiana com a da abertura da Av. Paralela, elo de ligação entre os eixos Estação Rodoviária/Aeroporto Internacional. O trabalho se iniciou a partir da interpretação de mapas históricos do período colonial chegando até os dias atuais com a utilização do Sensoriamento Remoto (SeRe) com imagens de diferentes satélites obtidas no Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE), no período compreendido entre os anos 1980 e 2005. Para a análise destas imagens foi adotado o paradigma dos Geossistemas como referência teórica, com base em BERTRAND, G. (1971); SOTCHAVA, V. B. (1977) e MONTEIRO, C.A. de F., (1978; 2001), sendo definidas então as unidades internas do Geossistema como o alto curso, o médio curso e o baixo curso do rio, analisados como Geofácies; também foi adotado o materialismo histórico dialético como método de abordagem, tendo como referências QUAINI, M. (1979); MARX, K. (1986); CASTELLS, M. (2000); HARVEY, D. (2005); entre outros. A contradição central identificada no desenvolvimento do trabalho foi a relação entre a cobertura vegetal e a expansão urbana, de cuja oposição evidenciou-se a existência de um processo de segregação socioeconômica espacial identificada a partir da análise de dados estatísticos obtidos através do Censo 2000 (IBGE). Foram projetados no espaço geográfico os resultados destas análises, sendo gerados mapas temáticos quantitativos e um mapa/síntese qualitativo. Foram analisados ainda aspectos relativos à existência nas nascentes dos tributários do rio de diversas lagoas de tratamento e decantação de esgotos, implantadas em vales e planícies de inundação que não garantem resultados significativos em termos de qualidade ambiental ao Geossistema, em especial nos momentos de ocorrência de maior precipitação pluviométrica, sendo apresentada então uma recomendação de manejo natural destas lagoas, com geração de trabalho e renda para a população que habita o seu entorno.

ABSTRACT This master’s degree dissertation of searched as objective to study the relation between the society and the nature under the optics of the hegemonic logic of the production of the space to identify the occurrence of space socioeconomic segregation in the scale of a hydrographical basin. The hydrographical basin of the Jaguaribe river, that total is located in the urban perimeter of Salvador, Bahia, in area defined from years 1970 as vector of growth and expansion of the Bahia’s seat of government, with the opening of the Av. Parallel, connector link between the axles Road Station/International Airport. The work was initiated from the interpretation of historical maps of the colonial period arriving until the current days with the use of the Remote Sensoryment (SeRe) with images of different satellites gotten in the Instituto Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE), in the period understood between years 1980 and 2005. For the analysis of these images, the paradigm of the Geossistem was adopted as theoretical reference, on the basis of BERTRAND, G. (1971); HUNTER, C.A. of F., (1978; 2001) e SOTCHAVA, V. B. (1977), being defined then the internal units of the Geossistem as the high course, the average course and the low course, analyzed as Geofácies; also the dialéctic historical materialism was adopted as boarding method, having as references CASTELLS, M. (2000); HARVEY, D. (2005); MARX, K. (1986); QUAINI, M. (1979); among others. The identified central contradiction in the development of the work was the relation between the vegetal covering and the urban expansion, whose opposition proved it existence of a process of identified space socioeconomic segregation from the analysis of gotten statistical data through Censo 2000 (IBGE). The results of these analyses, being generated quantitative thematic maps had been projected in the geographic space and a qualitative map/synthesis that had allowed to conclude for the existence of space socioeconomic segregation in the area in study. Relative aspects to the existence in the springs of the tributaries of the river of diverse lagoons of treatment and decantation of sewers, implanted in valleys and plains of flooding that do not guarantee resulted significant in terms of ambient quality to the Geossistem, in special at the moments of pluviometric precipitation occurrence bigger, being presented then a recommendation of natural handling of these lagoons, with work generation and income for the population had been analyzed still that inhabits its amer cool.
