Literaturas de histórias: contar outra vez a história da Negramérica com Manuel Zapata Olivella e Ana Maria Gonçalves

Abstract

The purpose of this thesis was analyze the representation of the history of blacks in the novel Changó: el gran putas(1983) and in the novel Um defeito de cor(2006) written by Manuel Zapata Olivella (1920-2004) and Ana Maria Gonçalves(1970). In view of the fact that a few constants in the literary studies today are the transgressions of social and artistic conventions, absolute convictions, supposed and master narratives and of hegemonic discourses of literature and of history it is important to research other forms of to tell events of afro-descendent histories. The main methodology it was reading and analyzing of the novels with theoretical fundaments in conceptions of literature and history as form of representation. Through the procedure, I set four categories of analysis which characterize the histories represented: reflection and questioning of the history in the writing literary, agency of blacks by means revolts, personalities who can be considered as hero or heroine in Latin America and images of the African Diaspora. Activating literary studies, studies of the cultural history, texts of the historiography and of the cultural studies about the Latin American context, I understood that the histories elaborated in the texts examined are different from each the other, but they interwoven themselves, they communicate themselves, they are closer of the existing speeches. At the same time, these histories distinguish themselves by means the reflection and the questioning the construction of the history of blacks, of the narration of revolts of who lived it, of elaboration of the personalities that overcame limitations and of the creations of the images of the Diaspora.
