| dc.description.abstract | This work is supported by Exu, who is the orixá of paths and transformations, to guarantee us
safe passage on the paths we travel in search of emancipation from the oppressions of patriarchy
and coloniality. I start from the thought that Exu is the main figure who will guide us within the
diaspora towards other ways of being and living. I translated six poems from A Fortune For
Your Disaster, by Hanif Abdurraqib, as an instrument that recreates subjectivities, capable of
translating the senses and experiences present in black bodies. This work seeks to reflect on the
processes and analyzes that occurred during the translation of the work, thinking about the
effects of racist patriarchy and how it operates on black men to sustain its system. I start from
the idea of a translation work that is reflected as a kind of lighthouse, showing us the pitfalls of
coloniality while allowing us to see new paths. I tried to link these thoughts to bell hooks' ideas
of male emancipation as a way of thinking about other possibilities and constructions of black
masculinity. I therefore suggest translating as a way of re-signifying the other's words to find a
dialectical field in which our experiences and sensibilities can also be the source of the energy
needed to free ourselves from the stereotypes that the racist patriarchy tries to preach in us.

| dc.description.resumo | Esse trabalho se ampara em Exu, que é o orixá dos caminhos e das transformações, para nos
garantir passagem segura nos caminhos que percorremos em busca da emancipação das
opressões do patriarcado e da colonialidade. Parto do pensamento de que Exu é a principal
figura que nos guiará dentro da diáspora em direção a outras formas de ser e viver. Faço aqui
então a tradução de seis poemas de A Fortune For Your Disaster, de Hanif Abdurraqib, como
instrumento recriador de subjetividades, capaz de trasladar os sentidos e as vivências presentes
em corpos negros. Este trabalho busca refletir sobre os processos e análises que ocorreram
durante a tradução da obra pensando nos efeitos do patriarcado racista e como ele opera em
homens negros para sustentar seu sistema. Parto da ideia de um fazer tradutório que se reflete
como uma espécie de farol, nos mostrando as armadilhas da colonialidade ao mesmo tempo
que nos permite enxergar caminhos novos. Procurei elencar estes pensamentos às ideias de
emancipação masculina de bell hooks como forma de pensar outras possibilidades e construções
da masculinidade negra. Sugiro então o fazer tradutório como forma de ressignificar as palavras
do outro para encontrar um campo dialético no qual nossas vivências e sensibilidades possam
também ser a fonte da energia necessária para nos libertarmos dos estereótipos que o patriarcado
racista tenta apregoar em nós.
