As dimensões da mediação da informação no âmbito das instituições arquivísticas

Abstract

The archival institution, through the conscious performance of the archivist, must assume its condition as a mediating environment, in favor of access and appropriation of information by the community that will feel represented in this environment and can support the development of social protagonism. In this perspective, this study aimed to show, based on a critical analysis of the literature in the area of mediation information, reflections on how archival institutions can enhance the development of social protagonism, especially by reaching the mediation dimensions of information. Regarding the methodology, the qualitative approach was adopted, using the bibliographic method. The aim was to articulate the theoretical, conceptual, and analytical aspects that supported the discussion on information mediation within the archival institution's scope. Through reflective development, it was possible to consider that the archivist, when seeking a conscious performance in the activities of information mediation, to reach the five dimensions: dialogical, aesthetic, formative, ethical, and political, it starts to contribute to the process of information appropriation, by those involved in the mediating action, which will favor the development and strengthening of social protagonism, both these subjects, as well as the mediating archivist and the archive itself.
