Cantoria de viola nordestina: narrativas sobre a vida e a performance dos repentistas

Abstract

Este estudo, que se intitula: CANTORIA DE VIOLA NORDESTINA: Narrativas sobre a vida e a performance dos repentistas, discorre sobre a arte do improviso versejada pelos repentistas nordestinos apreendendo o universo que caracteriza a partir de depoimentos, comentários e narrativas de poetas e estudiosos do assunto. As histórias e curiosidades a respeito da vida e das performances dos cantadores de viola são substanciais pra a compreensão dessa manifestação artístico-cultural conduzindo a uma reflexão sobre a necessidade de se valorizar e divulgar essa manifestação da cultura popular representativa do patrimônio imaterial do Nordeste do Brasil.

This study, which is entitled: “Northeastern Viola Folk Singing: Narratives about the life and the performance of the repentists”, converses about the art of improvisation versed by Northeastern repentists, apprehending the universe, which is characterized through registers, comments and narratives of poets and specialists on the subject. The stories and curiosities about the life and performances of viola folk singers are substantial to the comprehension of this artistic and cultural manifestation, leading to a reflection on the necessity of valuing and divulging this popular culture manifestation, representative of the immaterial patrimony of the Northeast of Brazil.
