As funções narrativas das capas de Sadman

Abstract

Este trabalho tem como objeto estudar a integração entre a capa de uma revista em quadrinhos e a narrativa gráfica em seu interior a partir da relação entre uma função narrativa e uma função retórica presentes na capa. Isso foi feito a partir de uma construção das características mais marcantes das capas de revistas em quadrinhos e de sua relação com as possíveis funções de chamada de atenção, retórica, e de revelar, em parte a história corrente, narrativa. Com a delimitação dessas características foram construídas figuras analíticas para dar conta da relação entre as capas e a narrativa corrente, denominadas de função Representativa, função de Indexação Icônica e função de Síntese Tópica. A partir dessas figuras metodológicas foi feita a análise das capas de série Sandman, identificando que as mais presentes são as funções Representativa e de Síntese Tópica e que as capas apresentam uma potência plástica e estética que não são contempladas com a atual metodologia.

This work goal is to study the integration between the cover of a comic book and the graphical narrative in its interior based in the relation between a rhetoric function and a narrative function of the cover. The work begin defining the characteristics of the comic books covers and theirs relations with some functions based in a call for the attention of the reader, rhetoric function, and some functions based in revealing some part of the current history, narrative function. With the delimitation of those characteristics as a base, it will be constructed a series of analytic figures that can compute the relations the cover and the current narrative, named Representative function, Iconic Indexation function, and Topical Synthesis function. With those ready it was applied to the analysis of the covers from the series Sandman, indicating a prevalence of the Representative and Topical Synthesis functions, and that the covers presents an level of plastic and aesthetic potency witch are not contemplated in the actual methodology.
