This dissertation makes a critical study of the cinematic constructions of subalternity in the films Cinco vezes favela (1962), Ladrões de cinema (1977) and 5x Favela - agora por nós mesmos (2010) seeking to understand how the narrative incorporates culture, configures history and is configured by it, in order to find symptoms, gestures or erasures, that work "against" subalternity. For that, three methodological keys are used: the relational and microphysical proposal, associated with post-structural thinking; hybridity and “in-beetwin”, derived from postcolonial studies; and the advances on the figural and the pictorial turn associated with the philosophy of cinema. The three methodological operators have one point in common, the question of difference introduced by Nietzsche, focusing on the crisis of representation. Research of multidisciplinary character, it covers theoretical-critical references linked to poststructuralism, postcolonial criticism and the philosophy of cinema, proposing a constant work of thinking (with) the films to perform a critical exercise of culture and society. |
