dc.description.abstract The scattering of a harmonic electromagnetic plane wave by a plane of induced dipoles has been rigorously treated by means of the Hertz vector. We have shown that only a self-consistent solution, which takes into account cooperative effects among scatterers, is able to conserve energy. pt_BR
