Abstract

In this article, we propose to trace an analytical and historical overview of the Walrasian and Marshallian theory of competitive equilibrium stability. We use analytical geometry and differential calculus as fundamental elements to solve the competitive equilibrium problem, and we conclude the article with comments on Walras's work.
