Resumo:
This dissertation aims to analyze the experience of book exchange promoted by the
Book Barter, carried out by the group Navega no Bem, as a Social Management
Technology. It seeks to understand its processes, repercussions and contributions in
the Community Library of Calabar by considering both autonomous and collaborative
initiatives that are articulated outside the traditional models of cultural mediation and
book circulation. The research used a literature review, documentary research and
autoethnography, integrated with the action research, allowing me to reflect on my
trajectory as a co-founder of the group and creator of the activity. The experience in
the Social Residency made it possible to organize an edition of the Barter of Books in
June 2025, which made it possible to produce and test the prototype of the Manual for
the Implementation and Management of Barter of Books and the creation of the
collaborative network between the nuclei of the activity. As a result of this research, I
consolidated the work into four main products: (i) Dissertation; (ii) Social Residence
Report; (iii) Manual of Barter of Books; and (iv) Barter Network of Books, materialized
on the website and in the WhatsApp group with the leaders of three centers.
