Resumo:
The agroforestry system is an ecological and economic combination of at least two crops, one of which is a perennial woody species, including palm trees, in a function of time and space to increase and optimize agricultural or livestock production in a sustainable way. This form of cultivation is frequently found in the Lower South region of Bahia and has the advantage for the farmer of greater diversification of income and for the biome greater conservation. However, the sustainability of this form of cultivation depends heavily on profitability, which can be identified by the economic viability of the combinations used by the farmer. In this study, 8 crop combinations were considered for analysis. Of these combinations, the most used combination in the Community, guarana and piaçava, was the one that presented the worst economic indicators, with a B/C of 1.15, IRR of 0.10 and NPV (12%) of R$38,105.23. While the most diverse combination, guarana-cupuaçu-piaçava-seringa-fruits, was the one with the best results, with a B/C of 2.81, IRR of 0.60 and NPV (12%) of R$261,114.59.
