The study of Financial Compensation for the Use of Water Resources (CFURH) in the State of Bahia began with the analysis of spatial conflicts generated by the construction of dams, especially through the contribution to the elaboration of the Socio-environmental Inventory of Dams in the State of Bahia, produced by the GeografAR Research Group. This article reveals the results of an ongoing research project that aims to verify the use of these resources within the municipalities that receive them, understanding how such transfers occur in the state of Bahia, highlighting the participation of these resources in the public accounts of the municipalities that were affected by the Sobradinho dam, located in the Lower-Middle São Francisco River. The choice of the Sobradinho dam for the development of this study was due to it being the largest undertaking, with 4,380.79 km² of flooded area, representing 85% of the total flooded area of the State. The CFURH resources move an amount exceeding R$ 53 million in Bahia, with Sento Sé, which has 1,648.36 km² of flooded area, being the municipality that receives the most Financial Compensation in the State, with 20% of its municipal revenues coming from CFURHs.
