Resumo:
This study aims to analyze the work of social workers with children in situations
of sexual violence treated at the pediatric emergency room of the State Children's
Hospital (HEC), in Feira de Santana, during the years 2020 and 2021 - a period
marked by the SARS-COV-2 (Covid-19) pandemic, analyzing the demands,
institutional responses, approaches adopted and instruments used by the
category. It starts from the assumption violence is a multifaceted phenomenon
and an expression of the social issue, in light of the discussions of Cecília Minayo
and Marilda Iamamoto. The theoretical-methodological foundation is anchored in
reflections on the social issue, the multiple forms of violence and, specifically,
sexual violence against children, in order to support the analysis of the data
collected. This is a qualitative study, whose empirical sources include information
systematized by social workers from the State Children's Hospital (HEC) after
filling out the National Notification System (SINAN) forms, the Standard Operating
Procedure (SOP) for situations of violence and interviews with social service
professionals working in pediatric emergency services. The data indicate that the
highest incidence of violence occurs among female children in the intrafamily
context and that there was a reduction in notifications due to the period of
isolation. Regarding the work of social workers at HEC, during the pandemic, it
was observed that SINAN data is considered a work tool, services are carried out
in a multidisciplinary manner, that coordination with the network is one of the
biggest challenges and that there is a project to discuss sexual violence outside
the hospital environment.
