Resumo:
The study observes the construction of the metaphor of crab men in the work of Josué de Castro and its reinterpretation by the manguebeat movement, which transformed this figure into a critique of urban dynamics and the metropolitanization process of the city. With a historical focus spanning from 1930 to 1990, the work examines the overlays and transformations in the occupation of mangroves, highlighting the mangrove as an element of the city’s identity construction. Based on the theory of “nebulas” (PEREIRA, 2021a), the study proposes a reading of nonlinear narratives and projects, revealing the social and cultural actors who, over time, have resisted and subverted imposed segregation dynamics, from a “beyond-human” perspective.
