Resumo:
This dissertation of master´s degree has as central goal to investigate the motivations that led the October 8 Revolutionary Movement (MR-8) to set up field areas in Bahia to formation guerrilla groups and enlarge the revolutionary struggle against the civil-military dictatorship that was implanted in the country after the 1964 coup. In this study we used the research methodology related to memory, oral history, documental history, and content analysis. The methodology facilitated the cross-sectional analysis of the content of the sources, which were important for the study of contemporary Brazilian history, aiming at problematization and discussion of the objectives proposed in this dissertation could be achieved. In this dissertation we analyze the content of the political-ideological action undertaken by MR-8 in Bahia, in Salvador and in the field areas of Buriti Cristalino and Cangula, which resulted in the siege of Buriti Cristalino, with the execution of four of its militants by Operation Pajussara. We identified the impacts of the disartilation of MR-8, with arrests, torture and deaths of its militants in the capital and interior of Bahia. We brought to establish the relationship between the defense and security strategy of MR-8 regarding the field areas and its militants, with the articulation, assembly and objective of Operation Pajussara, in addition to analyzing the relationship of conquest over militants, sympathizers, the involvements and the consequences they suffered with the execution of Operation Pajussara. The study and research also had as goal to discuss the execution of Carlos Lamarca by repressive agents, the instalation of field areas for the formation of guerrilla groups aiming to expand the revolutionary struggle against the dictatorship that established in the country after the civil-military coup of 1964. We analyzed the actions of MR-8 militants that searched to conquest sympathizers and supporters, through their ideological practices and political work, in the awareness among the masses for the left-organization in Salvador, in the village of Buriti Cristalino and in Cangula, for the revolutionary struggle of the left organization.
