Resumo:
The study of orchestral excerpts is of great importance both for those who aspire to and those who already play in symphony orchestras. However, there is little educational material for this purpose aimed at trombone players covering national orchestral excerpts. This work is divided into three parts. The first presents a memorial that describes the awakening to music in my childhood, my professional career until the present moment, and also the activities and courses taken at PPGPROM. The second part presents an article entitled “Survey of the main excerpts of Brazilian orchestral music for the trombone group”. To write this article, it was necessary to investigate and analyze existing academic works that address the same topic, which served as the basis for my research. The third part presents the final product, based on a collection that contains renowned excerpts of Brazilian orchestral music. To compose the final product, I conducted a survey of professional civilian symphony orchestras in the capitals of southeastern Brazil, then sent a questionnaire to the trombonists who work in them. Through the input of 26 trombonists, some with over 28 years of experience in orchestras, a total of 36 works by 15 composers were selected. This teaching material can help trombonists in their studies of orchestral excerpts, in academic course programs, and can also be included in the list of traditional orchestral works presented in orchestra auditions.
