Resumo:
In this dissertation, I analyze the performance of the public policy to combat racism and
religious intolerance monitored by the Bahia State Secretariat for the Promotion of Racial
Equality (SEPROMI), through the Nelson Mandela Reference Center (CRNM), between 2013
and 2018. Based on interviews with victims of racism and religious intolerance, in addition to
a documentary base involving complaints received by SEPROMI and the CRNM, as well as
normative instructions, reports and other documents produced by SEPROMI, I analyze how
the complaints and cases presented by victims of racism and religious intolerance in the State
of Bahia have been attended to and resolved. As a result, I present the contradictions between
SEPROMI's objectives and the State's actions in the period studied, given that the State is one
of the main promoters of racism and religious intolerance in the period studied,
